Export Client Digital Certificate From Firefox - Import to Internet Explorer

Article Purpose: This article provides step-by-step instructions for exporting your client digital certificate from Firefox and importing it to Internet Explorer. If this is not the solution you are looking for, please search for your solution in the search bar above.

Note: Before following the steps below you must first export your digital certificate from Firefox
 

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click the Tools icon in the top-right corner. Select Internet Options.

  2. Click the Content tab. Select the Certificates button.

  3. Click Import.

  4. The Certificate Import Wizard will start. Click Next.

  5. Click Browse to locate and select your file.

  6. You will need to select the folder your certificate is stored in and change the “Files of type” to a Personal Information Exchange file (.p12).
  7. You will now see your certificate displayed. Select it and click Open.
  8. Enter the password you assigned to your file. It is recommended that you select the option to make the certificate exportable in the future, though it is not required of you to do so.
  9. Make sure the certificate is stored in the Personal folder in the Certificate Store.
  10. Click Next to complete the import. The certificate will now be visible in your Certificate Store in Internet Explorer.
