Overview
Organization Validated Certificates provide instant identity confirmation and strong SSL protection for your website and business. OV SSL is an organization validated certificate that gives your website a step up in credibility over Domain Validated SSL Certificates. It activates the browser padlock and https, shows your corporate identity, and assures your customers that you take security seriously.
Intermediate Certificates help complete a "Chain of Trust" from your SSL or Client Certificate to GlobalSign's Root Certificate.
As an OrganizationSSL customer you must install your end entity SSL Certificate (received via e-mail) along with an OrganizationSSL Intermediate Certificate listed below. Instructions for installing SSL Certificates on various platforms can be found here.
Note: We’re preparing for upcoming CA/Browser Forum standards by introducing new GlobalSign root CA hierarchies. These will use dedicated TLS roots: GlobalSign Root R46 and GlobalSign Root E46. This change ensures compliance with industry requirements and strengthens security for your certificates. If you opt to have your account migrated early, the intermediate CAs chaining to these roots are listed below.
In some cases, the web server may need to be configured with a GlobalSign Cross Certificate or possibly with a Root Certificate as part of the standard configuration process.
