1. What is LifeCycleX?

   GlobalSign’s LifeCycleX is a powerful certificate lifecycle management solution and is designed to support the needs of any sized organization and can be used for a multitude of use cases. It simplifies the complexities of managing digital certificates issued by Public CAs, Microsoft CAs and EJBCA Open Source CAs, helps maintain compliance, and reduces the risk of certificate-related outages. The secure, yet fully featured dashboard enables administrators and role-based users to efficiently monitor, manage, action and report on all aspects of certificate management requirements without the need for additional tools.

2. Can I use multiple MSSL profiles with LifeCycleX?

   As of now, one profile is allowed in LifeCycleX, and the multiple profiles feature is yet to be added.

3. How does LifeCycleX identify/discover certificates?  

   Discovery scans are done on IP ranges, subnets, and configured ports. Additional scans on internal devices can be done on machine certificate stores. Discovery is CA agnostic, not limited to the CAs which are configured for provisioning.

4. Can I purchase certificates through LifeCycleX?

   No, certificate packs must be purchased through your account on GCC prior to certificate provisioning.

5. Which public CA certificates does LifeCycleX manage?

   All certificates can be added to the inventory for monitoring with the discovery feature. Provisioning of certificates can be done for GlobalSign and DigiCert.

6. Does LifeCycleX work in a multi-forest or multi-domain environment? 
    

   Yes, LifeCycleX works in both with the support of proxy and remote LifeCycleX server configurations.

7. Is there a SaaS version of LifeCycleX? 

   No. At this time LifeCycleX is only offered as an on-prem solution.

8. Can LifeCycleX be installed on a cloud VM? 

   Yes, as long as it is joined to an Active Directory domain.

9. What integrations does LifeCycleX support?    

   LifeCycleX has direct plugins for NetScaler, F5 appliances, Citrix and Azure key vault, SCCM, and supports Kubernetes using cert-manager.

10. Does LifeCycleX support AWS or Google Cloud?  

    Not as a direct plugin but using API or Script as workaround it can support. A direct plugin will be developed.

11. Can LifeCycleX automate the configuration of provisioned TLS certificates?

    Yes, using the LifeCycleX client, automation of provisioning and configuration of TLS can be done on your web server, as well as with the use of plugins.

12. Does LifeCycleX support ACME? 

    ACME is planned for a future release, but currently there is no support for ACME.

13. Does LifeCycleX support non-domain joined machines? 

    Yes, using a client or plug-in, the certificates ownership will be associated with a domain user, but may be provisioned to non-domain joined machines.

14. Does LifeCycleX support Entra ID? 

    At this time, LifeCycleX only supports on-prem Active Directory.

15. Does LifeCycleX support reporting? 

    Yes, reporting and alerts can be configured in LifeCycleX, and can be configured to alert multiple email addresses, and a summary of events and statuses can be viewed in real time within the LifeCycleX dashboard.

16. Does LifeCycleX support role-based access? 

    Yes, LifeCycleX allows for the granular assignment of permissions to Active Directory groups.
