How to re-issue your existing Code Signing Certificate?

Introduction

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to reissue your existing Code Signing Certificates. 

If you'd like a copy of your certificate, for example are you installing on multiple servers or devices? Additionally If you encounter a private key error and cannot fully install your Code Sign Certificate, you can simply reissue your certificate free of charge by following the step-by-step guidelines below.

  1. Log into your GCC account and select the Document, Code & Email Signing tab.

  2. Select ​Search Order History under My Certificate, then enter your Order ID (case sensitive) or common name in the search screen. Alternatively, you may leave it blank to search for all orders, then click Search.

  3. Once you have found the correct certificate, click Edit.

  4. Under the Certificate Edit page, click Reissue Certificate.

  5. Verify the information in the Certificate Identity Details and enter a Pickup Password, then click Next.
    Note: It is important to remember this password, as it will be used later.

  6. Select one of the Key Generation options, and make sure to tick the option: I will use a FIPS140-2 device to generate Private Key for my Normal Code Signing or EV Code Signing certificate. Now click Next.


     
  7. Confirm the signing algorithm of the certificate, then click Next.

  8. Confirm all of the details previously entered and tick the Subscriber Agreement box, then click Complete.

  9. You have now successfully reissued your Client Digital Certificate and you will receive an email shortly with further instructions on how to download your newly reissued certificate.
