What is AlphaSSL?
AlphaSSL by GlobalSign is an easy, basic and simple single Domain SSL Certificate, that can be issued fast and covers your site with GlobalSign trust.
IntranetSSL certificates are issued under GlobalSign roots which are not publicly trusted. This allows IntranetSSL to support features which are normally prohibited under the industry and CA/Browser Forum guidelines. Specifically, IntranetSSL supports the issuance of certificates:
With Internal Server Names and reserved IP addresses.
Using the SHA-1 signing algorithm for legacy application support.
With up to 5 years of validity vs. the current 27 month maximum.
Intermediate Certificates help complete a "Chain of Trust" from your SSL or client certificate to GlobalSign's root certificate.
As a CloudSSL customer you must install your end entity SSL Certificate (received via e-mail) along with the CloudSSL intermediate certificate listed below.
Note: Provided you have a client digital certificate, you can digitally sign an e-mail to any recipient. Digitally signing a message with the settings specified in prerequisite #3 will also send the recipient your public key.
