MSSL Self Service Domain Validation for EV Domains
To align the vetting process for MSSL OV and MSSL EV Domains we are removing the manual vetting requirement from MSSL EV domains validation process for receiving/sending signed forms back and forth and vetting manually via RAs.
The MSSL OV domain validation process will be incorporated into MSSL EV domain validation process where a customer adds a domain, selects validation method and then they validate/verify it.
Note: This change is applied only on MSSL EV domain validation and not on the standard EV SSL certificate domain validation.
Following is the process to add an EV domain to an MSSL EV profile:
- Login to the Managed SSL Tab, select an EV validated profile:
- Submit your Domain Name:
- Select the Point of Contact:
- Select one of the Domain Validation Methods. You can click the links below for the guidelines on how to proceed with each verification method.
- Performing Domain Verification - Approver Email
Note: The HTTP domain validation method cannot be used for issuance of subdomains and wildcard SANs.

- Performing Domain Verification - HTTP Verification Method
- Performing Domain Verification - DNS TXT Record
- Verify if the details are correct. Press Complete to confirm details.
- Complete the validation process:
- HTTP Based Validation Method – Place unique code at the specified location of the website. Navigate to Manage Domains and Profiles, click Manage Domains under the profile and click Verify button.
Note: The HTTP domain validation method cannot be used for issuance of subdomains and wildcard SANs.

- DNS Based Validation Method - Place unique code in DNS Record. Navigate to Manage Domains and Profiles, click Manage Domains under the profile and click Verify button.
